Our big news this week? Adam's back in the YEG!

Granted its a little hard to avoid some of the negative league talk, but we address some of the issues that are plaguing the New York Cosmos already (where will they live?). We also take a look at the Fort Lauderdale situation and talk about how much the league should or can actually be involved with it, as well as a very brief talk about the Rayo OKC club and what they might be next season. All this plus the usual NASL rumours that always seem to float around in the off season.

Then we move into the dreaded CPL talk. NO we don't think that FCEd will move, but its interesting to talk about as fans of CanSoc and believers in a professional league.

Sorry if we ramble. Its been a pretty quiet 10 days since the final for the NASL.

Welp. That was a game. We talk and analyze the game that was for FCEd as they tried to push through on their first post season win, and a spot in the SOCCER BOWL.

We also look at what the NY vs Rayo OKC game meant, and touch briefly on some of the rumours flying around the league right now about Rayo OKC. Finally we touch on a well deserved few player awards that have been announced, and will be awarded this upcoming weekend.

Well, its finally here. The post season is upon us. We forgo our review of the league results, because (and lets be honest here) you really didn't care anyways. All that matters is FCEd vs Indy 11. Ok, and maybe a discussion of the state of the league, and how others are seeing it. But mostly a preview of FCEd vs Indy 11. Ya lets focus on that.

James from The Bloody Shambles joins us to discuss what fans in Indy are looking to see on Saturday, while we provide some insight into what we would like to see in a FCEd starting eleven. Some predictions of the game are had by all (you can probably guess who says what), and we find out what happened to the Soccer Map from Twitter.

Sorry for the length this week guys... We're just too damn excited about Saturday, and FCEd hosting the Soccer Bowl game up here in the cold north.

So we always seem to "luck out" when we record on Tuesdays... Today is no different. We take some serious time to talk about the Ottawa Fury and Tampa Bay Rowdies announced move to the USL today, and give our (very brief) thoughts on it. Nothing but love for the fans of those clubs as well. We'll miss ya!

Of course the world doesn't stop turning, so we do a quick run down of what happened this past week in the NASL, how the post season has shaped up (THE FADENING is still going on), as well as talk about some of the controversy at the FCEd game on Sunday. Quick little preview of the week coming up, and we're almost at the post season.

Despite Nathan's best attempts to slow time down, we've got Episode 83 hot and ready for you. We start off with the ALWAY controversial topic of NASL in 2017, and how many teams will be joining the league. We've heard a few things, and discuss accordingly. Following that, its time for another round of "who wants to play NY" in the NASL post-season wrap up. Only the fourth seed is up for grabs now, and there's a bunch of teams looking to lock it down. Finally, we talk about FCEd, the games ahead, and who on FCEd has been nominated for the league awards this year. (HINT: vote for Matt Van Okel #MVO4MVP).

Oct 12, 2016

We take a looooong look at the NASL this week, and how the results are impacting the post season. There's a bit of discussion about what needs to happen in order for FCEd to gain a home field advantage (IT IS POSSIBLE DAMN IT!), and what that would mean for both the league as well as FCEd. We spend a lot of time looking at the various teams that are currently fighting for that all important fourth finish in the combined table, before previewing the week to be in the NASL. Hang on... its gonna be a fun rush to the post season.

A completely unprecedented podcast... We start by discussing the mid-week FCEd game and how absolutely disappointing it was for FCEd playing away vs Jax. We also take a very close look at the rest of the NASL, particularly looking at those clubs that have a solid chance of making the post season, and what the magic numbers are for FCEd and clinching a post season spot. Of course we take a bunch of time to talk about the absolute pain and glory that Sunday was for FCEd, and how great it is to be a supporter on this side of that result. As usual we wrap up with a look at the future games in the NASL, and what might happen.

The big eight oh! There is so much NASL action happening, that we had to leave most of the league analysis for a later podcast, though we briefly touch on some of the rumours surrounding the league and some teams (including one that our sources have told us about, but hasn't been reported elsewhere yet!). We start off looking at the week that was in the NASL, talk about what's been wrong with FCEd recently, and what we would do to change the recent form, before previewing a staggering 12 games this week in the NASL.

Sep 20, 2016

This week we review the NASL games that were. Nathan gets a bit ranty about some of the team (looking at you Minnesota and Carolina) for some reason, and we examine how close the post season race really is. Of course we give a massive shout out to Matt Van Okel for catching player of the week, before diving into the upcoming games in the NASL this week.

Sep 16, 2016

Ep 78!!! Special thanks to our listeners... You da real MVPs.
Today... we actually broach the subject of the CanPL... and why we're not thinking its the next biggest thing since sliced bread. Of course we review the NASL week that was, before diving into some of the choices that Colin Miller made for the starts on FCEd this week. Finally we wrap it up as usual with a forecast of the week that will be in the NASL.

Also: F the Cosmos (LETS GO FCEd!!!!)

This week, we try to rush through the NASL scores and preview the week to come in the league before being joined by FC Edmonton GM Jay Ball. Jay requested to come on the show after hearing Ep 76 and wanting to address some of the concerns that were brought up in Steven Sandor's article about the struggles that FC Edmonton has had in gaining attendance. We discuss the differences between FCEd and the "big two" (Oilers and Eskimos) in Edmonton, what the club needs to do for the final games of the 2016 season, and how this change will occur in the following years.

The view from up North: What a week. First, apologies for being so delayed. In this episode, we recap the games that were played in the last bit in the NASL, before moving into some of the drama that has happened in the NASL this week. We attempt to do justice to a very awkward situation with the allegations that an FCEd player is facing, before touching on the case of the missing turf in OKC, Fort Lauderdale's attendance woes, Ottawa's rumour mill (are they leaving? Does a Canadian league exist? ONLY THE SHADOW KNOWS), and wrapping it all up with the much talked about article from Steven Sandor on what it will take for Edmonton to take notice of its strong soccer team.

Aug 24, 2016

Oh its been a week! On Ep 75 we review everything thats happened in the NASL, as well as look at FCEd and a VERY brief look into what it might take for FCEd to make it to the post season. Some shade thrown at the Ottawa Fury, and we start questioning if there's cracks in Indy 11.
BONUS: Intro salvaged from Monday's recording, talking about what it means to be a FCEd supporter.

Aug 16, 2016

Adam is back and rested up for Episode 74! We start off by reviewing the last few weeks, focusing mostly on the games that had big implications for the top of the table. We talk a bit about the games that were this week in the NASL, looking at who's hot and who had their parade rained out (its funny, because there were so many delays this week...).

Then we go on a bit of a rant and look at why FCEd players seemingly are ignored for player of the week awards, and if its a good thing for FCEd's positive results right now.

Finally we wrap up with a preview for the upcoming games this week!

Aug 9, 2016

With Adam away, Nathan turns to a new friend of Edmonton supporters culture, Rob from the Timbers Army. We talk about his insight into the move from D2 to D1, and how the MLS has changed over the years, missing div 2 soccer, and what can be done to help increase support in all levels. Also, we dive into FCEd's season so far from an outsiders perspective, and the quality that FCEd is putting on the field week in and week out.

Aug 5, 2016

Since we skipped out last week, its only fair that we put up two pods this week! Nathan seems to be ok with the computer nonsense, so you even get some music in this one. We focus on the past week for FCEd, quickly touch on some of the new signings, and discuss the latest drama in the FCEd world (teaser: it has to do with an ex player being arrested).

Aug 3, 2016

This week we start out with a special preview of the Canadian Women's National Team as they get ready to start their run in the Olympics. Our guides on this journey of discovery are the awesome hosts of the For Kicks Podcast. Nathan takes over technical duties as Adam's laptop died, so there is a noticeable lack of intro/break/outro music in this episode. Nathan promises to learn how to work the computer in time for the next episode.

Jul 20, 2016

This week we go sans guest, but that doesn't hold us back in what we can talk about! We recap the game against Ottawa and look ahead to Indy, and mostly analyzing the back line of Edmonton's that looks like the end of a scotch tape roll.

I guess you can say this weeks theme is missed opportunities. Not just on the FC Edmonton front but for other teams across the league.

Of course we also talk V Cup, US Open Cup, some player movement news and rumours.

Excuse us as we try to play catch up after a week off.

Another busy week to recap!

We begin with FC Edmonton's spirited win in Ottawa despite falling a little short in their comeback in the Voyageurs Cup preliminary round. We'll call it a moral victory as it helped carry the momentum from some terrific league play.

Next we recap the nutty week that was in the NASL, and how Saturdays results allowed Edmonton to take first place, albeit temporarily.

We also touch on a few smaller issues, like how Matt VanOekel has become the winningest FCE keeper, Ledgerwood's injury and where is Mallan Roberts?
