This week we return with a roster update (so far anyway) of who's in for the fall season. 2 of the 3 are familiar names for FCE fans. We also try to break down what they can add to help FCE have a more positive fall season.

We then move on to talk about Soccer Day in Saskatchewan. We know, this is an Alberta based podcast but we felt it had plenty of connections to Edmonton and news about growth of pro soccer in the Prairies. We run down what's been shared from the town hall meet up that was arranged, and how the crowd could help determine the success of a potential pro team in the 306.

We then do a brief prediction of what we are expecting from FCE for the start of their fall season when they host the Indy Eleven this coming Sunday.

Jul 19, 2017

This week we sit down and grade the individual parts of the team as well as the sum of all parts. We start with the coaching, move on to keepers, then the backline, mids, forwards and the front office. Please note these grades for the players and coaching is purely based on what we saw on the pitch on game days, and the front office was rated on their ability to market the team and draw the crowds.

Also, we were unable to take comment on the Fordyce signing as it happened after recording this episode. We will have a hot take on this next week!

Don't agree with our grades? Let us know where you think we went wrong on Twitter or Facebook (@LoyalCompanyRV)

What a difference a win makes. In this episode, we applaud the efforts of Miller and staff for getting a massive win with a short bench and the unfortunate injury to Nathan Ingham.

We then comment on the newly departed Dean Shiels and talk about why he was just never the 'difference maker' we were told he'd be. We also look to how the team could use his international spot (and salary) to find a replacement.

And we finish it off by previewing the final week of the NASL spring season.

Jul 5, 2017

We took this week to talk at length about #MillerOut, what he's doing wrong, what can be done right, and is this season a write off?

We also address the rumours of Fordyce coming back after being released by FC Cincinnati. Is he the answer to what FC Edmonton needs? With his permanent Canadian residency, he could be considered a domestic.

We then chat about Albert Watson becoming a permanent resident how that could affect the teams moves heading into the split season break.

This week we spend the bulk of our episode reviewing the ups and downs of the matches against Puerto Rico (huge low), New York (huge high) and Miami (meh). We also spend a fair amount of time discussing FC Edmonton's positive attendance figures and how long they need to do this before they get some support from the city in a larger stadium.

This week we break the format a bit and intro with a discussion had recorded at the last FCE match. For Kicks Podcast joins us to discuss FCE's 'Girls in Soccer' initiative and how important the women's game is in this country.

We also talked at length about the attendance and atmosphere at that match and how it could be a real turning point for how the team is perceived in this city. Of course we talk about the win, and how important it can be to set the tone of the upcoming busy week for the team.

This week there is no shortage of topics. First we recap last weeks loss to Ottawa, including the roster selections and what it means for the second leg of this Voyageurs Cup match up. We then skim across league results, including FCE's tie against Indy for their first clean sheet of the year. Of course previews are sprinkled in there. There's also reaction to the Cosmos friendlies announced today, and how they affect FCE. And with the CPL announcement this weekend, we have to comment on it. Obviously we're happy but understand expectations need to be kept in check.

After a brief hiatus we attempt to get back into the groove with a free flowing pod about the last few weeks game. We try to analyze what worked, but more easily we determine what wasn't working. We also start looking ahead to next weeks Voyageurs Cup match against the Fury, Indy's new look, and we offer our insight into whether Pluto is a planet or not.

We figured we should do something big for 100, so went on location to the FCE Fan Shop to do a special fan round table with Tobi and Will. We talked about what got us to 100, our excitement about the home opener and just have a great fan conversation regarding FCE.

These Tuesday releases are becoming a regular thing. We dive right in with some news and info about how things are going in New York with the move for the Cosmos. Then its all FCEd all the time. News was fast and furious this week as we heard rumours, had rumours confirmed, and learned about training camp, as well as learned today about when and where FC Edmonton will play pre-season.

Finally, we semi-answer the shout out from Rabbit Radio.

Back to it! Lots of NASL news this week, as well as FCEd news. First up we look at the recent player rule changes for the league, notably that Canadians are now considered domestic players league wide. We also take a bit of a look at the schedule and what the positives for FCEd are and where they might struggle (HINT: There's a long road trip in the future. And its not pretty for FCEd fans).

We wrap up with a very brief update of a recent initiative for FCEd. The club has worked to increase the communication that the different supporters have with each other, and we were lucky enough to be invited to that table.

A day late, but that doesn't damper our enthusiasm for the latest round of FCEd player news. Lots of analysis on who was announced, how the FCEd roster is shaping up, as well as talk about who we're expecting to be announced next, and which spots FCEd needs to fill still (hint: ITS DEFENCE!!!!). We also look at the latest round of FCEd front office news, including what was announced by Jay Ball on that other podcast earlier last week.

We also quickly look at some of the news from the NASL, skipping largely over the player signings that have happened this week (really there's been too many, and we only really care about FCEd).

First off, thanks so much to everyone who checked us out for Ep 90.
So FCEd announced some player news! We discuss who's been officially listed on the 2017 roster, what they might bring to the club, and why we only seem to have 5 players signed right now. Of course we talk a bit about the departing players and why they left FCEd.

Then we talk with Luis and Nick from This is Cosmos Country about the offseason and everything that happened in New York. We also look at what New York needs to do to ensure they are successful now, as well as a brief look at how the change in ownership in New York has changed the NASL focus moving forward.

BIG time podcast for Ep 90.
Stick with us as we talk about both Shamit Shome and Daryl Fordyce's recent departures from FC Edmonton, and how this might impact (eh?!?!?! LIKE THE MONTREAL IMPACT!!!) FCEd's lineup in 2017.

Then we jump into what you all tuned in to hear... We have the one and only Duane Rollins on the podcast to recap and discuss the Canadian Premier League and where it is at. We talk start dates, requirements and why it isn't designed to develop Canadian talent (though thats a greatly appreciated by-product). We also briefly speculate on FC Edmonton's involvement, as well as who else in Edmonton might be interested in joining the league.

Its good to be back! Vacation and holidays are all done now, so we're looking forward to a solid recording season. Pre-season is only a few weeks away after all!

We start this podcast with the standard NASL review, including some discussion on our thoughts of the Div 2 sanctioning from USSF and how it will work long term, along with which clubs are still standing, and our thoughts on the commissionaire position.

After the break, we talk FCEd and some player movement, but focus on how the Front Office for FCEd has been handling things over the last few weeks.

Needless to say, its good to be back. Thanks for your patience and we hope you enjoy!

We're back! There may not be any solid news to report on, but we try and sift to some of the potential for the league, what some of the outcomes might look like for soccer in Canada and the USA, as well as breaking down the recent Carolina, Tampa Bay and Ottawa news.

We wrap up with some positive news (WHAT?!!?!? HOW CAN THERE BE POSITIVE NEWS IN THE NASL!?!?!?!) on FCEd and why we think that FCEd will continue on no matter what.
