Maybe it's a sign that we've been following r/NASLsoccer far too much, but we address almost all of the rumours from this past week and give our input into how credible some are and what we think of them. So PLEASE don't take any of this as legitimate news, we're just parroting this from the NASL reddit page. There is a dusting of official news in what we are talking about though.

And for good measure, we cover Watson being resigned, Corea in the World Cup Qualifiers and who we think would be a good fit on FC Edmonton that could be considered a Canadian International.

In a podcast where we struggle to keep everything on topic, we talk in depth about the Soccer Bowl and how it was probably the most entertaining version of the modern era. Congrats to the Cosmos on their second modern Soccer Bowl, and major respect for the the travelling Fury supporters for making a strong presence at the game as well.

We then focus on Canada's big win against Honduras in the World Cup qualifiers and how it sets them up for a very intriguing run to hopefully get one of the Hex spots.

And then as usual we get into more FCE speculation, including the premature repot that Hanson Boakai was about to sign with TFC.

Hey look! We kept this podcast to a reasonable length!

We start by recapping the NASL Championship semifinals. It was a fun weekend and a terrific advertisement for the league, especially the Ottawa/Minnesota match.

We then moved on to talking about the impending news about Rayo OKC expansion, and look at the steep hill they have to climb in competing with OKC Energy in that market.

Next we moved on to giving out our long awaiting FC Edmonton awards. We even manage to give out almost as many awards as an elementary school track meet.

And of course, we finish off with a preview of this weekends Soccer Bowl between Ottawa and New York.

In this extra special long podcast (we didn't mean it, we swear!), we recap the final week of the NASL season and look at the final standings for the Championship.

We also get into who FCE released, who they retained and who's currently out of contract. TONS of roster speculation in this podcast, and a look at GM Rod Proudfoot's time here. We look into where he succeeded, where he failed and what we want with our next GM.

This week we talk about the league results, attendance, expansion and FCE's final game of 2016.

Oct 23, 2015

This extra special bonus episode has friend of the show John Smits (@RealJohnSmits) return for another amazing candid conversation!

We managed to get John to return to the garage studio and talk about his changed role with the team this season and how it has affected him. We also get him to answer some questions we got from twitter and Facebook along with a bunch of other questions we forgot to ask him last time.

We want to thank John for joining us on the podcast being a terrific guest for us.

Oct 20, 2015

It was a rough week for the Eddies and we recap it all. The end result basically means FCE is eliminated from the post season, and we start to get critical and look where this team lost ground.

No, we're not dead (although it could be disputed how close we actually feel to that). We return after a week and a day. The week was because tech guy Adam was lost to illness, and the day was us observing the RIGHT Thanksgiving.

We get right back into it with maybe our most emotionally charged episode yet! We get way in depth on the race to the Championship with only one spot left for grabs. Without anyone officially eliminated, we take about all the teams still looking to get that last spot.

We then move on to talk about the fan voting for some of the awards, and how that's probably flawed potentially taking awards away from more deserving players and coaches.

The last portion of this episode goes in depth about the supporter culture in Edmonton and how it can improve. Nathan suggests a move to the typically vacant Section 101 for a variety of reasons, and we both go into what can help ESG get back to their roots and how others can help (ourselves included).

What!? Two podcasts in a week!?

Well there's enough going on that we figured it warranted this special bonus episode.

First, we get into talking about the NASL board of governors meetings and the expansion/relocation rumours surrounding it.

We are then joined by Kareem Moses, who shares a lot with us, ranging from his injury, how he joined the Eddies and his relation with the supporters in Edmonton.

Another great podcast this week!

We quickly skim over league results in a week that saw a lot of movement in the overall table. We then tackle FC Edmonton's massive win (we've said that a lot this year, haven't we?) against the Cosmos. With the victory, we have playoff fever!

We are then joined by the guys from Ours is the Fury podcast to discuss this weekends match against the Fury.

As per usual, we recap the league and FCE results. As we near the end of the season, we get into the tight playoff race.

We are then joined by the guys from This is Cosmos Country podcast to help preview the upcoming match against the Cosmos. We also get into discussing Raul and their declining attendance.

We then return to discuss Jacksonville firing their coach, the 3rd Florida team to do so this season. We then also stress how important stability is and how it's helped a team like Edmonton.

In this episode we recap the league results as per usual and provide our thoughts on FC Edmonton's important win. Again, we go over the table for probably too long and try to see where the Eddies fit into the playoff picture.

We then move on to talking about the Eddies next opponent in the Indy Eleven. James from the Bloody Shambles podcast and blog joins us to share and in depth look into Indy's season so far, including their most recent loss to San Antonio. It was a pleasure to have him on, and listen to James on the Bloody Shambles Soccer Show.

Nathan's back and we return to our normal podcasting format.

We cover results across the league as usual and what they all mean for the upcoming Championship Series. We also break down FC Edmonton's late dramatic tie against Minnesota along with some shenanigans that ensued.

We then move on to talk about more league expansion rumours and speculation with some high profile names being thrown into the mix. We also talk about the potential lawsuit that the NASL is filing against MLS and what it could mean for the sport across North America.

This weeks episode is again a change from the regular format. Adam is joined by Tobi (@FTofD) and Kevin (@RealKevbo) to help put together a new episode. He don't dwell much on the loss to Atlanta, but talk a bit about the other teams we enjoy following. It gets a little heated, with Kevin sharing a few F-Bombs.

We do get to talking a bit about the upcoming match against Minnesota in a game that determines this years Flyover Cup winner. Please note that Nathan has previous said he wouldn't trust drinking out of it.

And if you thought this podcast went off the rails, you should see what happened to Tobi's face on the way home after!

Nathan is gone this week on holidays and left the podcast hosting duties to the possibly less than capable Adam. But don't fear, we got a couple great interviews lined up to help fill the void.

First off, Steve Sandor joins the podcast to talk a bit about himself, the current FC Edmonton season and their chances at making the postseason. Steven runs the11.ca, is FC Edmonton's colour commentator and is the editor for the Plastic Pitch magazine.

Paul Scanling then drops in to talk about FC Edmonton's game this weekend against the Atlanta Silverbacks. Paul hosts the Gorilla Talk podcast as a fan of the Silverbacks.

This week we go deep again into league results and how it affects FC Edmonton. Jacksonville did Edmonton a huge favor in beating Carolina and Atlanta. We're hoping Indy can help the Eddies out the same way this week.

As per usual, we get deep into Edmonton's game, discussing where it puts them in the fall and overall standings.

We also start getting into scoreboard watching and how the upcoming matches this week around the league can affect Edmonton as well.

With a wealth of NASL games this past week, there's no shortage of stuff to discuss. Ottawa reigns supreme, Atlanta continues to surge, New York starts to return to form and Indy crashes hard (racing pun not intended).

We also break down FC Edmonton's huge week. 4 points in 2 games was a solid result, the defence holds strong and the offense starts to click again.

We also discuss NASL promotion and relegation, and what it could mean for the larger North American pyramid picture.

Aug 4, 2015

This week we recap results across the league as per usual. We also recap FC Edmonton's game against the Ottawa Fury in Ft. McMurray. There were some positives to talk about, including the Eddies debut of Dustin Corea. We then move onto previewing upcoming games against the Indy Eleven and Minnesota United. It also wouldn't be a normal week if we didn't do some more speculating on the rumoured C-League.

This week recap the Woodall Cup and how much of a success it was. It was a fantastic showing by all that was involved and amazing to see the community come together for such an important event.

We also dug deep into league results, especially Ottawa's strong play and how they have marched to the top of the NASL standings. They've been on an amazing run and it's great to see a Canadian club do so well.

On the other hand, FC Edmonton returned home to Clarke Field and had a really disappointing performance despite some key players returning from injury. We break that down, and also preview this weekends massive matchup between the Fury and Eddies in Ft. McMurray.

This week we get deep into talking about league wide results in Week 2 of the Fall Season. With the league bringing in midweek games, they is more than enough to discuss. We also get into FC Edmonton's brutal road trip and how they have come away with 5 points in a week to remain undefeated in the Fall Season and on top of the standings. It was a much better result than we were even hoping for and gets us thinking about a Snow Bowl.

Also, we talk about the upcoming Woodall Cup. Be sure to get your tickets and keep checking out the site for more info and silent auction items.

For the first time in a month, we strip it back to just the two of us. Plenty to talk about though. We recap the second week of NASL fall season action, including our thoughts on the online stream of One World Sports Wednesday Night Soccer. We also talk about the Eddies and their draw in Fort Lauderdale and how positive it was with the current injury situation.

In the second half, we look forward to a busy week with games on Wednesday and Saturday. We also talk more about a potential Canadian pro league and how FC Edmonton can work with it, as well as talking about a couple potential NASL expansion teams.

This week we bring in a special guest who is doing some great work for an amazing cause. Paul is helping to organize the Woodall Cup in memory of Constable Daniel Woodall who tragically lost his life on June 8, 2015. This event will go a long way to help support the family that Daniel left behind.

In the 2nd half, we get back to talking about FC Edmonton's start to the fall season. Even though it was a poorly reffed game, we manage to take a number of positives from it.

In this episode we do our best not to fan boy out completely with one of our favourite FC Edmonton players.

We sit down with John Smits (@RealJohnSmits) and have a fantastic candid conversation with him. We talk about his beginnings in soccer, how he became a keeper and what lead him to sign with FC Edmonton. We also chat a bit about gear, 'keeper psychology and his experiences with the call-up to the Montreal Impact on their historic run in the CONCACAF Champions League run.

We take advantage of the midseason break to bring in FC Edmonton assistant coach and Academy Director Jeff Paulus (@jeff_paulus). Jeff shares his beginnings in coaching, what brought him to Edmonton and eventually how he helped build and shape the academy to where it is today. We also get his thoughts on how the season is going so far, insight into the two newest signings and a slight hint towards the type of player they decide to eventually sign before the fall season kicks off.

Really, we covered so much in this conversation that you'll need to listen to catch everything. Special thanks to Jeff for sitting down with us and sharing his knowledge and insight.

This week it's just Nathan and Adam, but there are definitely no shortage of talking points this week.

First we discuss FC Edmonton's disappointing end to the spring season. We also break down what this means for Edmonton moving forward into the fall season. There's news that there will be 3 players coming to the team in the break, and we speculate/dream who that could be.

We then move on the the CanMNT and discuss their win against Dominica to kick off their 2018 World Cup qualification. Although it was 'only' 2-0, we can't help but feel optimistic about the future of this program.

Finally, we end off with what we've been most distracted with; the Women's World Cup and CanWNT. While not encouraging, we compare Canada's group play to their results at the Olympics and speculate who their next opponent could be.
