In this episode we do our best not to fan boy out completely with one of our favourite FC Edmonton players.
We sit down with John Smits (@RealJohnSmits) and have a fantastic candid conversation with him. We talk about his beginnings in soccer, how he became a keeper and what lead him to sign with FC Edmonton. We also chat a bit about gear, 'keeper psychology and his experiences with the call-up to the Montreal Impact on their historic run in the CONCACAF Champions League run.

We take advantage of the midseason break to bring in FC Edmonton assistant coach and Academy Director Jeff Paulus (@jeff_paulus). Jeff shares his beginnings in coaching, what brought him to Edmonton and eventually how he helped build and shape the academy to where it is today. We also get his thoughts on how the season is going so far, insight into the two newest signings and a slight hint towards the type of player they decide to eventually sign before the fall season kicks off.
Really, we covered so much in this conversation that you'll need to listen to catch everything. Special thanks to Jeff for sitting down with us and sharing his knowledge and insight.

This week it's just Nathan and Adam, but there are definitely no shortage of talking points this week.
First we discuss FC Edmonton's disappointing end to the spring season. We also break down what this means for Edmonton moving forward into the fall season. There's news that there will be 3 players coming to the team in the break, and we speculate/dream who that could be.
We then move on the the CanMNT and discuss their win against Dominica to kick off their 2018 World Cup qualification. Although it was 'only' 2-0, we can't help but feel optimistic about the future of this program.
Finally, we end off with what we've been most distracted with; the Women's World Cup and CanWNT. While not encouraging, we compare Canada's group play to their results at the Olympics and speculate who their next opponent could be.

Nathan is back after missing last weeks episode. We are also joined by a couple special guests, Rob with From the Black Hole (@FrTheBlackHole) and Dallas (@OnkelDal).
Be warned, this episode is very light on NASL and FC Edmonton news. We spend a lot of time talking about the Womens World Cup and how Edmonton and the other host cities have done so far in support for this event. We also discuss is this kind of support could help continued support for our national teams as well as FC Edmonton.

This week we record a podcast without Nathan since he's on holidays. But no worries, Tobi (@FTofD) joins Adam to talk briefly about the FC Edmonton game and league play. We also go in depth about the new rumoured Canadian soccer league and what it means to FC Edmonton and other soccer markets across this country. Finally, we end off this podcast with talk of the Womens World Cup.
